Sobhy Summer Threepeat

Amanda Sobhy’s August victory, at the Squash Revolution National Capital Open in Maryland, marked her third WSA title win of the summer, making her the first player to win three WSA events in a row this year. Sobhy’s hat-trick capped an impressive six months for the Harvard Junior.

The All-American finished her sophomore college squash season by winning the Ramsay Cup at the College Squash Individual Championships and helping Harvard take home the Howe Cup at the Women’s College Squash Association National Team Championship.

Sobhy’s success continued as she traveled to four tournaments on the WSA World Tour. She kicked off her summer in Hull, England, at the Allam British Open, one of the premier tournaments on the WSA pro circuit. Sobhy won two strong qualifying rounds to secure her a spot in the main draw, and though she lost to the No. 5 seed in the first round, Soby’s qualifying run boosted her confidence ahead of three summer WSA events.

Over the next two months, Sobhy won the Buler Squash Challenge Cup in Hong Kong, the Hampton Squash Week in New York, and the Squash Revolution National Capital Open, bringing her career WSA title victories to nine.
