In continuing efforts by the World Squash Federation to gain acceptance by the International Olympic Committee for the 2016 Summer Olympic Games, WSF President Jahangir Khan, along with Emeritus President Susie Simcock and Secretary General Christian Leighton, met with IOC Sports Director Christophe Dubi during the Sport Accord in Athens in June.

Called by the IOC Sports Department, the objective of the Accord was to appraise the next steps regarding the 2008/2009 review process and to provide short-listed International Federations the opportunity (individually) to ask questions on the process. During the meetings, the WSF was asked to name competitions that the Program Commission should visit as part of the Observation Program. As a result, invitations will be extended to the 2008 Men’s and Women’s World Opens in Manchester, England, in October.

Presentations from the short-listed IF’s to the Executive Board of the IOC will be made June 15-16, 2009, in Lausanne, Switzerland.
