With consistently strong performances throughout the season, Logan Greer and Olivia Blatchford earned the two automatic spots on the US Junior Women’s Team set to compete in Hong Kong August 1-11. Greer and Blatchford finished atop the Selection Series tournaments points standings. The next six (see standings table) will compete for the final two spots on the team in Philadelphia, June 8-10, at the US Junior Women’s Trials. Following this event, Greer, Blatchford and the two that emerge from the tryouts will represent the USA in the World Junior Women’s Team Championships.

All eight will be fully funded by US Squash to compete in Hong Kong in the World Junior Women’s Individual Championships, ensuring a deeper pool of elite players with international playing experience for the United States. The entire squad will travel to Kuala Lumpur and stay for four full days prior to arriving in Hong Kong to acclimate and train with the Malaysian Junior Team. Malaysia has produced some amazing talent in recent years including World No. 1, Nicol David.

Head Coach Jack Wyant is pleased with the team’s progress, commenting, “The junior women have worked hard all season to make the top eight. There are two spots up for grabs at the Trials. With the parity of this group, the two that work the hardest between now and June will have the best chance to make the team.”
